In November we had a tasting with Union Street Catering at Candlestick Park, home of the 49ers. We took our parents along for the fun.

I gave the coordinator a list of what I wanted and she thought of a very impressive menu. It was just what I wanted! Here is a preview of what is to come:

Passed Hors d’oeuvres
Garnished with fresh tray flowers

Mini Cornucopias of Dungeness Crab
Herb cream cheese, chives, and red pepper flags wrapped in mini crepes.

Grilled Tenderloin
Slices of rare filet served on shallot crostini with red onion confit garnished with a Gorgonzola Rosette.

Mezza Lunas
Puffed pastry stuffed with wild and domestic mushrooms, thyme and Marsala.


Like the Ferry Building’s markets this Farm fresh station will be simple yet elegantly displayed on rustic wood rounds surrounded by woven baskets.

Imported and Domestic Cheese Display
A combination of assorted hard & soft cheeses, and our home-made cheese torte. Sliced baguettes, long rustic bread sticks, and polenta crisps. Garnished by fresh seasonal fruits.

Assorted Crudités
Blue lake green beans, roasted garlic potatoes, ginger carrots, grilled zucchini, balsamic red onions.
Served with a Parmesan garlic dip.


Decorated with garlic braids and bread baskets.

Fennel Salami, mortadella, marinated artichokes, roasted vegetables, marinated fresh mozzarella balls, olives and prosciutto garnished with fresh basil leaves. Accompanied by a basket of house made polenta crisps, crostini and multi colored breadsticks.

Penne and Fennel Sausage
Our version of the classic “Spaghetti with meatballs” tossed with our house made marinara and petite fennel sausage. Topped with Parmesan ribbons.

Classic Caesar Salad
Hearts of romaine tossed with house made croutons and our classic Caesar dressing topped with cracked pepper.
Served in a Martini glass.

Assorted Focaccia Bites
Caramelized onion, walnuts and Gorgonzola, Fontina and tomato.

Celebrating the colorfulness of Chinatown and Asian Fusion of SF. This station will be adorned with Asian inspired silk fabric and paper umbrellas.

Individual Carryout Pad Thai
Traditional rice noodles sautéed with julienne red bell peppers, carrots, bean sprouts, jalapeños, snow peas, cilantro and lime in a spicy Thai peanut sauce. Garnished with chopped peanuts, scallions and mint.
Served in Chinese take out containers.

Minced Chicken in Lettuce Cups
Black mushrooms, Chinese Lop Cheung Sausage,
Garnished with pine nuts, spring onions and cilantro.

Vietnamese Spring Rolls
Crisp Asian Vegetables and rice noodles are rolled with basil, cilantro and mint served with a spicy peanut dip.

Asian Tuna Tartar Cone
Tuna blended with ginger, sesame, soy and fresh cilantro served in a crisp won ton cone on a bed of black beans.
Garnished with scallions, sesame seeds, and cilantro leaf.

Overflowing Asian baskets full of customized Fortune Cookies.


Lively colored fabrics and ceramics garnished with assorted fresh salsa’s and colorful tortilla chips served overflowing from Mexican sombreros.

Petite Tamales
Roasted fresh pasilla chilies and quesa fresca in vegetarian masa and steamed in cornhusks topped with a traditional green sauce.

Gaucho Empanadas
Diced hanger steak, onions, garlic, oregano, tomato and cumin baked in a tender crust.

Masa Crepes
Petite hand made crepes stuffed with fresh chicken and spices drizzled with roasted tomato salsa.
Garnished with queso fresca and cilantro.

Fried Plantain Slices
Served with cumin scented black bean dip, crema, queso fresca, spicy salsa and scallions.
